Rain and heavy winds pounded into our little neighborhood in Huntington Beach all day Friday and into Saturday.  February 17, 2017 provided us with flooded streets, downed trees, and power outages.  I am very happy to say that having just completed an extensive home remodel our house survived the storm without incident.  Our little neighborhood park down the street did not do as well.  Trees were completely uprooted, flooded parking lot, branches and palm fronds scattered everywhere.  As Chloe and I were attempting to walk through the park to assess the damage looking for a possible photo opportunity we were stopped by a gentleman who was very concerned about the park and how long it would take the city to get all the trees and area cleaned up.  Since our park has always been very well maintained I assured him it would be cared for as soon as these winter storms move on.

Below are some pictures of our park and some of the damage.
